Hearth Amphora
For spaces that are lived in and loved.
This vessel is part of a new body of work inspired by moving my studio home, the softness and warmth I've found in my own space keeps showing up in the pieces I'm making. Dyed porcelain, stoneware, and red Georgia clay were marbled together, finished with a drip of 22k gold luster at the rim.
Double handles rise from a rounded, amphora-shaped body. A classic form made new. The interior is fully glazed, while the exterior is left unglazed so the natural texture of the clay stays at your fingertips.
Details:
10" tall x 8" at widest point, 4" opening
Marbled dyed porcelain, stoneware, and red Georgia clay
Glazed interior, unglazed natural exterior texture
22k gold luster accent, third firing
Hand built in Savannah, GA
